SPLASH 2017
Sun 22 - Fri 27 October 2017 Vancouver, Canada
Wed 25 Oct 2017 13:30 - 14:00 at Regency D - Security Chair(s): Karim Ali

Many may believe that browser wars are a thing of the past, along with the dodo bird and the Palm pilot. We argue that we are seeing a new round of competition around browser performance across the most popular browser of today, both on the desktop and mobile. While previous iterations focused around JavaScript benchmarking, we are starting to see other forces such as hardware support and low power consumption increasingly come into play. In this talk we will cover both the state of the art and some of the future directions as well as some of the ways for academics to get involved.
